How do you turn the death of a tree into forensic evidence? Whysteria transforms the felling of a 70-year-old wisteria in Rome into a forensic digital diorama. Using custom pipelines combining After Effects and Python scripts, the project reconstructs the events surrounding the tree's removal and the community response it triggered. The reconstruction combines photogrammetry from archival photos for the 3D site model, After Effects animations for the temporal sequence, and Python scripts that ingest municipal documents and witness accounts into a structured evidence database.
